The case of Yavor Zlatanov, known from the Anti-Corruption Fund’s “Eight Dwarfs” investigation, once again brings this question sharply into focus. The court found that his arrest was not part of a legitimate investigation, but an act of extortion.

But the problem goes far beyond a single case: the lack of effective oversight of the Prosecutor’s Office affects every citizen.
