“Anti-Corruption Week” Initiative

“Anti-Corruption Week” is an innovative initiative of the Anti-Corruption Fund that uses the power of art as a tool for social change in order to engage the public with the issues of corruption and the rule of law. In a context of low public trust and growing apathy toward the abuse of power, the project aims to restore sensitivity to the problem through emotionally impactful and accessible formats.

The main activities include: a national competition for essays, photography, and short videos; the creation of a documentary art film about the consequences of corruption; the organization of an exhibition featuring the award-winning works; film screenings and public civic discussions in Sofia and Plovdiv; and the publication of a collection of the best competition entries.

In partnership with the “Art Today” Association, the initiative combines the expertise of the civic sector with access to new audiences and cultural communities.

The project places a strong emphasis on young people, providing them with an opportunity not only to express their position through creativity, but also to become actively involved through a mentoring program and an internship at ACF.

Through this model, “Anti-Corruption Week” creates a space for dialogue, develops critical thinking, and builds a new generation of engaged citizens capable of countering corruption and defending democratic values.

The “Anti-Corruption Week” initiative is implemented within the framework of the “PACT” project and is funded by the European Union and the Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation (OSI-Sofia).

The views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union, the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), or OSI-Sofia. Neither the European Union, nor EACEA, nor OSI-Sofia can be held responsible for them.

As a small expert organisation, we prioritise tips that contain sufficiently specific facts about corruption at least at the mid-level. Please describe all facts and data (names, addresses, dates, amounts, e-mails). Attach copies and/or originals of documents if you have any. Please be patient – our thorough approach takes time. We do not handle cases that concern solely private interests.
