At the end of 2020, the Bulgarian Food and Safety Agency has concluded annexes for extension of the contracts for disposal of animal waste for another two years with the companies Blue Cross 2016 and Eco BG-SGP. The new contracts open the possibility for contracts for another BGN 30 million until the end of 2022. “The annexes concluded at the end of 2020 are an example of continuing the irregular practices of the BFSA and an illustration of a new striking violation of the principles of the Public Procurement Act,” Lora Georgieva, a lawyer with the Anti-Corruption Fund, commented for Free Europe.
