ACF INVITES PARTICIPANTS IN THE COURSE "INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM AGAINST CORRUPTION"

The Anti-Corruption Fund Foundation (ACF) is organizing a training course titled Investigative Journalism Against Corruption.
WHAT
The course will introduce participants to methods used by investigative journalists and activists to uncover suspected corruption. Among the lecturers are members of the ACF team and some of the best investigative journalists in Bulgaria.
The course features five online lectures. Participants will also work independently on an anti-corruption investigation and will be expected to present their findings during a final, live meeting.
The lectures will cover the following topics:
- Using publicly available information and obtaining information from public databases
- Working with sources and whistleblowers
- Applying legal analyses in anti-corruption investigations
- Audio-visual storytelling
- Ethical aspects when investigating suspected corruption.
This training course aims to support young journalists and activists, providing them with the skills for investigating suspected corruption and other threats to the rule of law.
Each participant will have the opportunity to develop an investigation and receive support from mentors from within the ACF team or working in close partnership with the organization.
Results will be announced at a live meeting of all participants at the end of the training course.
The authors of the best investigations will have the opportunity of a paid internship at ACF.
WHO MAY APPLY
The course targets young investigative journalists and activists interested in conducting anti-corruption investigations to help counteract corruption in Bulgaria.
Having prior journalistic experience is an advantage but not an absolute must.
“What is important for us is a strong drive to work on anti-corruption investigations,” said Boyko Stankushev, director of the ACF. “We encourage independent journalists and civic activists to apply for this training opportunity.”
