The property acquisition of the head of the SAC should be immediately inspected
For the third day now, we have been observing the complete silence of the institutions on the property acquisition of the Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court, Georgi Cholakov, at an extremely underestimated price revealed by BIRD.BG.
In our opinion, it should become a reason for immediate inspections within the scope of their competence by the Inspectorate to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), the Commission for Anti-corruption and the Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Property, and the National Revenue Agency.
The Judicial Collegium of the SJC and the newly elected Anti-Corruption Commission in Parliament should also take a position on the case.
The acquisition by persons in the highest public positions in Bulgaria of properties well below market prices is becoming a recurrent negative phenomenon to which we have not yet seen any adequate institutional response.
