Der Standard: As early as 2019, ACF has sent reports to the Financial Inspectorate and the Prosecutor's Office about irregularities at the Capitan Andreevo Check Point

The Austrian daily “Der Standard” published an extensive article about the checkpoint “Kapitan Andreevo” entitled “Mafia schemes at the Bulgarian border.”
The piece also quotes the ACF’s reports and the (lack of) institutional reactions:
“In fact, as early as 2019, the Anti-Corruption Fund (ACF) sent reports to the Public Financial Inspection Agency (PFIA) and the Prosecutor’s Office about illegal operations at the border crossing.
However, the PFIA answered that it did not have the sufficient administrative capacity to verify this.
And the Prosecutor’s Office refused to initiate proceedings because “there was insufficient evidence of a crime.”
