Appeal for support for the International Criminal Court's war crimes investigation in Ukraine

Together with 65 other civil society organizations, ACF yesterday called on the state parties of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to ensure the timely, thorough, and competent collection of credible and reliable evidence of possible war crimes in Ukraine by immediately supporting the investigation of the Office of the ICC Prosecutor.
The signatory organizations call on the state parties of the Court to urgently provide the necessary financial and human resources so that the Office of the ICC Prosecutor can immediately begin to collect and preserve evidence of possible war crimes in Ukraine. They further call on the state parties to support the Court’s investigation by providing experienced investigators, military and ballistics experts, Russian and Ukrainian translators, and to support the efforts of organizations and journalists currently gathering evidence on the ground or through open-source analysis.
“Immediate action is needed to gather credible and reliable evidence of possible war crimes and bring their perpetrators to justice,” the appeal reads.
Among the civil society organizations that supported the appeal are organizations from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and their partners.
