A signal addressed to PFIA and the Prosecutor’s Office
Financial inspection assigned by PFIA
The lawfulness of the public contract will be checked as part of a passed PFIA annual plan, too.
On 23 March 2018 the Anti-Corruption Fund /ACF/ notified the Public Prosecutor’s office and the Public Financial Inspection Agency /PFIA/ of a grounded assumption about falsified data in the documentation of the company, which had been granted a public contract for “Implementation of Engineering – Design and Execution of Construction and Installation Works in Relation to the Realization of the National Program for Energy Efficiency of the Multi-familial Residential Buildings in the Territory of Blagoevgrad Municipality – 2nd Stage”. The public contract concerns the renovation of a “Multi-familial Residential Building – Block of Flats no. 38”, address: “Alen Mak” quarter.
The signal was timely reviewed by the PFIA standing committee and, after a compliance assessment was carried out in view of the requirements of the Regulations for Applying the Law on Public Financial Inspection, it was decided that a financial inspection would be assigned at Blagoevgrad Municipality, so that the above mentioned public contract was inspected. The contract in question was opened pursuant to resolution РП – 36/30 December 2015, under number 00109-2015-0036 in the Register of Public Contracts of the Public Procument Agency.
