Sega: Guest House Sanctions to be Covered by Taxpayers

Sanctions for guest house violations and other fines under the Rural Development Programme, worth millions, will be paid by taxpayers, following a Supreme Administrative Court decision. The court pronounced void the methodology for determining sanctions on projects for the period 2007 – 2013, which had been put forward by the executive director of State Fund Agriculture.

The decision means all violators have a one-year deadline to request compensations from the state. This applies even to project owners whose fines have been finally determined via legal proceedings.
