Sega: Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Awards Contracts, Worth Millions of Lev, for African Swine Fever Measures That Had Already Started

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has opened a number of urgent public procurement procedures, saying the measures aim to tackle consequences of the African swine fever outbreak in the country.

The contracts, worth millions of lev, have been awarded on an urgent basis because of unusual circumstances related to the outbreak, the agency has said. The recipients were large pig holdings which needed to bury animals carcasses to prevent the spread of the disease. What is curious, however, is that the express procedures were announced after the measures to bury the carcasses had already started.
